night becomes her

i don't know what to say.
a kernal of light
shining blinding light
it is the star of hope
illuminating me
ten million million miles away
i take the colors to bed with me
kiss them tenderly
stroke my fingers through her leaves
inhale the milky blue blossoms
the dreadful dark storm
invading the horizon.
imagine my hand trailing against her wood
lying between her toes
hidden deep in her bowers
i can finally close my eyes
sink into the earth
finding quiet serenity.

I originally composed this last spring for my Electronic Music class, but it never quite reached the "finished" stage. I've been adjusting and tweaking the mix for the last several weeks, the biggest changes were adding the drum solos into the intro, and the symphonic strings at the end. The track has lots of rock influences in the rhythms, and is a pretty massive track, and while electronic, is definitely not a dance track.

so many things wrong,
so many things broken...
i'm only still standing
out of stubbornness as always.
so many questions, and time is falling
through the hourglass in clumps of eroding rock
the next one is aiming for my head
no time to duck
or grab a helmet
taking it full force in the face
and wondering what i will look like
out on the other side
the dark side
the cold and lonely side
hidden from the sun
eventually i will be smashed
beyond all recognition
destroyed decaying meat

Half-Blood Prince is fantastic!

okay so i didn't finish Order of the Phoenix until tonight (and read a couple hundred pages to finish BY tonight)... and i didn't exactly wait until i was done to start reading Half-Blood Prince (i read the first two chapters around 2 in the morning after it went on sale at midnight. but now i have finished OotP and moved right on to HBP, and made it into the third chapter... i must say that, so far, the book is a very great pleasure to read. and all those people i come into contact with who dismiss the Harry Potter books as children's books (i shall hence-forth call them muggles) clearly do not understand the wonderful treasure they are robbing themselves of.

I'm racing through Order of the Phoenix one more time... I just hope I can finish it by Friday night!
